Boxer Pal
Hi everyone! I'm joining boxerworld once again- I visited here years ago, but don't remember my username.

My husband and I got our first 'boxer' when we were in college ('97)- we were pretty ignorant at the time. We did do our research on dog breeds and decided that boxers were the dog for us. We decided the best place to find our boxer was the newspaper (we didn't know any better) and low and behold, there was an ad for rare black and tan boxers. We went down to look and they were adorable. Little did we know that there was no such thing as black and tan boxers! Oh well, he's gorgeous and way more boxer than not! His mom was a fawn boxer (we saw her), but we'll never know exactly what his dad was- we assume he was a boxer mix, because all of the 1/2 boxers look nothing like our boy.

So here's our rare black and tan 'boxer' Bosco- lol! He really is stunning!

A year later we found the perfect friend for Bosco at the local animal shelter. She was the sweetest white boxer girl named Annabelle- she had every health problem imaginable and was with us for 4 short years (although she was much much older than that). Sorry, no pics- I have to scan some.

Fast forward to now. I took my kids to the local animal shelter and there were two of the sweetest boxers I have ever seen in a kennel together. It was love at first sight. I really had no intention of adopting two dogs, but after much thought, we did it. Bosco, who is now 10 years old, has two new friends. They are estimated to be around 1 1/2 to 2 years old. They were found stray and emaciated. Why anyone didn't claim these dogs is beyond me- they are wonderful.

The first day was so rough- Bosco was very aggressive and I thought we had made a huge mistake, but on the second day, something clicked and he decided they were ok. That was that- they are best of buds now! Bosco is 10, but he actually has way more puppy in him than they do although he is slower due to arthritis. The kids adore these dogs and they are so good with the kids. We are truly blessed.

Here's our Gus and Zoe:

It's nice to be back at boxer world!
