On October 24th I went for a routine volunteer day at Boxer Rescue Los Angeles. I never imagined I would meet my next baby that day because I had made arrangements earlier that week to possibly buy a beautiful boy Boxer from a local breeder and we were sure he was gonna be ours. He was stunning!!!
As soon as I got to BRLA the founder asked me to walk an older girl who wouldn't eat. She was very old, skinny, calm and seemed very depressed. We walked and I brought her back to put her in her kennel, but she would not go. I agreed to take her home to foster and try to get some weight on her she was about 17 pounds underweight. Her first morning at home my husband fell in love with her and wanted to keep her because he was afraid no one would want her because she is in pretty bad shape. So no complaint from me we named her Lucy and once again made room on our bed.
She is the perfect dog! Housetrained, sleeps in bed and cuddles. Stays alone for hours and when you return there she is right on the couch snoozing where you left her. She is very sick in many ways, deaf and about 11 to 12 years old someone tied her to a tree and left. She is going to get the best retirement ever because we love her madly!!! How ever long we have her we will cherish that time. She has the battle wounds of a very hard life from here on out it's luxury city for Lucy!!
Her pics are now in my gallery.
