Hello to all,

My name is Kimberley and I am owned by "Gracy" (Cinnoman Lady Grace), A 2 1/2 yr old, Flashy?, Brindle With black mask. I rescued her from a terrible pet store where she had Kennel cough and was severely malnourished. She is now 60lbs of solid muscle and a sweet baby. Her normal wieght is 66 lbs of muscle but she lost some weight after her surgery. Excercise is not an issue for her you let her go and she runs and runs, while minding her boundary whistles of course:)

While she is AKC registered I doubt I could do any showing with her. She is beautiful and quite a fine specimen I have been told but her two surgeries (hernia repair and tumor removal, benign,) and natural ears disqulify her. I think anyway. I am currently working on getting her certified as a therapy dog. I am nurse and I go to many hospitals and nursing homes and clients homes. She is gentle as a baby and has lots of energy. Sleeps on top of whomever she can or rather so close its on top and boy is she sneaky with toilet tissue as she strews it about. We will Welcome all email and are excited to meet everyone!

Welcome!

Welcome Kimberley and Gracy :)
It is great you try to get her certified as a therapy dog! Have you seen many boxers as therapy dogs?

Re: seeing other boxers as therapy dogs

No I must admit I have not seen many other boxers as therapy dogs. I can understand partially why, with my Gracy anyway. She is very docile in care settings and is so sweet to little ones and elderly. Tolerating the little and gentle nudging of the old. At home and in some places gracy enjoys sitting on my lap. Now I know that sounds funy but it is true! I pick her up under her arms while I am sitting, put her rump on my thigh and her arms around my neck resting on my shoulders and she sits there watching everyone and allows everone to pet her. I used that out of the home for those who thought her dark colors looked menacing. It works great! And trust me many are surprised because she is more than 60lbs.

I do have one problem with her though and it involves other dogs. She fights way to much with other dogs, not to hurt them but it seems as if to show leadership, as she has pinned a great many on thier backs. How do I discourage this behavior?
