Hi,
We are a very small kennel just outside Lincoln in the UK. We currently have nine Boxers who all live in our kitchen. We moved to our current location specifically so that could breed Boxers and never worry about having room for them. We show in conformation, but really enjoy agility. Our prize boy is a big deaf white fellow by the name of Benji, he has successfully completed five clear rounds uner Kennel club rules (and his only just turned four yrs old).
Over the the last year or so we have been trying to breed Bob-tail Boxers with the help of Dr. Cattanach. So far we have three that remain with us, one of which has just started his show career.
I hope that's given you a small insight into us here at acreoaks.
We are Barry & Gillian.

Thanks Carole, If you've been on within the last few days I've put some pictures of the Bob-tails on there. We are still working towards our ten year goal (the ultimate Boxer) but that might have to stretch a few years as we're a long way off just yet.

Cheers
Barry

Hi Barry

It was only a few days ago that I was on your site, they are all beautiful. Do you still have to crop some of their tails or are they all short?

Hi! Welcome to BW. I absolutely love your dogs! they are beautiful!! The idea of bob-tailed is something I hadnt heard of, but i love the idea. I work for an animal rights attorney, I'm sure she will be interested in this idea!!

Please keep us posted on any developments!

We actually have animal rights attorneys in Utah??? Jeez it seemed like there was nobody around this place that gave a crap with some of the conditions I've seen. Glad to know there's someone out there around here who actually tries to help them.

Oh and I'm going to go check out your Bobtails as well, that's an interesting thing!

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

In response to Caroles question regarding the Bob-tails.
At this early stage of the programme we have only a 30% chance of whelping a Bob-tail from the stud dogs currently available. The length of tail is fairly consistant and a good length is acheived in most pups. We have however kept two bitches from the last mating, both of whom had slightly longer tails.
Some show people said that we should have had them docked but I want to see the tail develop. Our young boy has an excellent tail, perfect in length and construction.
What seems to be happening is that currently we are getting differences in the very tip of the tail. Currently the pups in Norway sired by different studs are having better rates of success and a more consistant length. So we will have to see what our boy produces.

Cheers
Barry
