i guess they would wonder what you were doing going through their dog poo...so i would say you missed your dog messing the other day so i picked it up after you and found this!!

I think this would get the point across nicely and tactfully!

Since you already seperated it so nicely for them.. I would say, I noticed you forgot to pick up after you dog earlier, so I went ahead and got it for you this time, but, just so you know, in this bag.. theres worms.. and behind bag number 2 (ha ha no pum intended there) theres a gold ring.

But, I am quite comedic, when being comfrontational... since I am horrid at it. I make jokes of everything...

And remeber... ALWAYS SAY IT WITH A SMILE!!!

I recommend that you be tactful, as military people may be your only '"family" in hard times. Offer some bags for the poop and simply be straight forward about how you found the gold ring. Hopefully the Rotties companions will grow up and clean up!

Okay, so here is what happened. Last night I took my two out very late and the guy was out there with the Rottie, and he was not even on a leash :eek: The dog had pooped, and I said, very tactfully, "Oh, do you need a baggie? I forget to grab one sometimes, too." The guy said "I ain't picking that up!" This is my wife's dog and I'm not picking up sh**!

Well, I told him that with so many dogs living in the apartments, we all have to pick it up or it would be everywhere and we would have to look at it and smell it all the time. He said "Well, I guess its good that everyone else picks it up then!

So, I told him not to worry, I had been picking it up and that I had found a ring in there and that if his wife wanted it back, she could come by my apartment. I also told him to mention to his wife that the dog had worms, but I doubt he will.

Wow! What a brass idiot he is! I think you handled it very well. Well done. I hope you have the opportunity to meet the wife, if for no other reason than to discuss the rotties health issues so that she can deal with it, but I doubt that anything good is going to come from this. Or for that dog for that matter, I feel badly for him.

You handled it much better than I would have. I'm a little hot tempered. They would have had a lovely bag of poo on their doorstep every morning. They might not be picking it up themselves but it could at least stink up their own garbage can!

That was a great story! Having 3 boxers, I sometimes pick up other dog's pooped just so I don't get blamed for it. I'd love to know if you hear from the wife. You handled it brilliantly!

The guy's kid came over today. He said that they looked around and realized that his dad's wedding ring was missing. The parents got into a fuss because neither wanted to come get it. The son said that the ring was really expensive and has real diamonds in it. I gave him the jar (air tight) that I had put the baggie in. Someone is going to be faced with quite a smell when the jar is opened!!! I feel better knowing that it was the man's ring.
