Ok I just have to share this and see if it happens to anyone else? My vegas is 13 weeks old and yes she was the runt so she is much smaller than most boxer babies her age. well I get the "is she a miniature ?" question all of the time and it drives me crazy!!! is there such a thing?? I havent come across it in any of my research. And secondly some woman who has bred boxers before came up to me at a carnival and proceeded to pet my dog and ask me all sorts of questions like how much I paid what I feed her etc... I answered all of her questions and as she was getting ready to leave she told me my vegas was nice but not show quality!!! I asked her if she had put her dogs in shows and she said no. Well I was offended, If I wanted a show dog I would have gotten one. that was like insulting my child!!! I think my baby is so cute and I'm sure everyone else feels the same way.

Your baby is individual and you love it just the way it is. Sam is nearly 17 weeks old. He is white and because of this we are not able to show him. At the end of the day when Jason and I were thinking about getting a puppy we didn't even think about showing. We just wanted a pet that we could love no matter what the size or looks.

Don't worry about it. I had a lady call my baby "ugly" to my face... I was furious, and I asked her when was the last time she looked in the mirror. I couldn't resist. I think Boxers are the most beautiful dogs in the world, and I wont let anybody tell me otherwise.

Yes you probably will .... why? beacuase people are generally ignorant.

Does this mean they are trying to be mean or insult you? No how can you expect people to know any different when "so called" breeders claim to breed miniature boxers.

The breeder you spoke to is quite obviously rude, the best answer for her is "well your boxer is such a lovely colour". Breeders hate this, as it generally means their dogs have no other merrits.

As for the lady who called a boxers face ugly, well she got what she deserved.

Our baby is 4 years old and fifty lbs.; a former show girl who we got at 10 months when it was decided that she was too small to win in favor of her bigger brother.

Some people come up to me and ask 'who is her breeder because they want a mini boxer. Because she is dark brindle, some people cross the street because they think she is a pit.

She is a wonderful example of the smaller spectrum of the breed. Better yet, she has the total boxer personality...beaning, fash washer, comical and protective. A total love bug...and that's all that really matter!

Don't let anyone get in the way of enjoying your baby!

You know, my 50lbs girl is standard with her 21½" and my boy is even a little too tall with his 25½"!!! But, I'm sure I will never hear that Igor is too tall, most boxers, not very standard, that I see are even taller (and much much bigger, people here don't seems to know the difference between a big muscular boxer and a fat one, most are very proud of their 100lbs boxer!!!

So, when someone ask me if she's a mini, I answer no, she's standard, it's the other boxers that are too tall!
