I noticed today, when Greta was playing, that her ears keep turning "inside out". I was wondering if this is a normal occurance for boxer puppies. Will her ears start to stay better as she gets older?

Let me reassure you this is very common in puppies and is known as "fly away ears".:) Alot of times the ears will do this because they are teething.

When you are just sitting with your puppy you may want to just keeping rubbing her ears in a downward position and this somewhat helps.

My Samantha who just turned One Year Old on Saturday has this issue now. It did not happen when she was a puppy but it appears that I am fixing her ears every 5 minutes. Syd on the other hand who is almost 4 month's old it happens all the time.

If you do some reading on this Forum you will see that Greta is not the only one. :)

Zac most generally has one or both ears cocked back. He is about 9.5 months old. Gunny, who turns 2 this month occasionally has one cocked back. I'd say it's pretty normal.

Yeah, Pearl's do that all the time, especially when she's lolling out the car window. I call it her Princess Leia look.

Yep, mine do it too. I have quit fixing them, I figured they will fix themselves eventually and I don't mind the flyaway ears so I don't worry about it.

I swear Abbie makes her ears go inside out on purpose. She rubs the side of her head on something until they turn inside out. I thought at first her ears were bothering her or something and had the vet take a look when she went in for her after-spay checkup and she said they looked fine. If you fix them after she turns them inside out, she will often go rub them again and turn them inside out again. Maybe it feels good to air them out? Who knows, they are just silly.
