sorry to hear about your boxer. I thought this site would help you--it is Canine Cancer Awareness.org and they seem to have quite a bit of info regarding chemo drugs and their affects, and the different types of canine cancers, etc..I skimmed through it and it looks interesting and helpful...I will post back when I find more info for you!

Here is a link for oncologists in New Jersey: http://www.perseusfoundation.org/new-petowner/onc_locate.cfm?state=new Jersey

and also in Pennsylvania: http://www.perseusfoundation.org/new-petowner/onc_locate.cfm?state=Pennsylvania

The above two links for PA & NJ came from the Perseus Foundation--they also seem to have quite a bit of info: http://www.perseusfoundation.org/new-petowner/index.cfm

one more link....veterinary radiation oncology centers by state (in .pdf): http://www.vetcancersociety.org/pdf/radiation.pdf

I'm not sure where in NJ you are but the Animal Medical Center in New York City, Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus NJ, and the University of Pennsylvania vet school all should have oncologists who can help you. The vet who performed the amputation should also be familiar with local referral clinics and may be able to help direct you.

Hi. I live in Philadelphia and have had two dogs with cancerous mast cell tumors. One just required surgery. The other needed surgery and 20 radiation treatments. From the research that I've done, The University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine has an excellent oncology program. Also, we used a veterinary oncologist located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Her names in Anne Jeglum. She is really excellent. She has done a great deal of research and work in dogs with lymphoma. She has also done extensive work with canine osteosarcoma. I would highly, highly recommend her.

I live near Philly and used Dr. Ann Jeglum in West Chester, as magsp did. I would HIGHLY recommend her facility. The nurses are wonderful and there is another doctor there, Dr. Irwin, who was the kindest person I've ever met. She called me the day Cadence died to talk to me. She's just wonderful. The facility is in West Chester but it is well worth the drive. The facility is called Veterinary Oncology Services. Good luck...please keep us posted.
