Hi all... I have a female brindle who turned 2 in May...and she has NEVER gone into heat. Is that strange??? My previous female was around 21 months before her first cycle, but this seems ridiculous. Can my girl be infertile???

That's great gives you time for her health testing to be done if you're breeding.

Not to mention getting in a few shows.


Did you rescue her also? Maybe she's spayed if she was.

Not rescued...we paid a buttload of $$$ so we could breed her. However, we do not want to show. I am just concerned as to why she hasn't had a cycle yet. Do you have any suggestions as to what we can do??? I guess we should see a vet, but do we need a specialist for this, or will our neighborhood vet do the job?

Just a forewarning...tread lightly on this matter.

Just because you paid a "buttload of $$$" for her doesn't mean she is the "breed standard" for a boxer. You need to be responsible for doing the health testing before you can find out if she is ok to be bred.

First and formost I think you should read the link above. Then read the rules to this site that pertain to breeding. :( If you have no plans to show your dog or do the health testing you need to have her spayed.

As you can probably imagine, we get all sorts of backyard breeders and other irresponsible idiots who try to make use of this site to discuss breeding their pets :rolleyes: This site is not, and never will be, a resource for backyard breeders, who simply are not welcome here in any shape or form. Thus, we require evidence that at least basic screening for genetically inherited disorders common to boxers has been undertaken.

Your thread is closed, as will be any similar topics. I will reopen it after you provide copies of your health screening results.
