Hugo managed to rip up the crate pad he's had since he was 10 weeks yestderday...

Put a hole in it then managed to get every bit of fluff out of that thing. It seemed like a durable one but he still got the best of it.

Anyone know of a good pad for $20-30 that he wouldn't be able to tear apart?

Thanks

I use the Kong pad and it seems to have been very good. Can't say it's indestructable... but my little girl hasn't seemed to destroy it yet.

I haven't used one but I know of people who swear by the Kuranda bed. They cost more than what you stated, but from what I understand they will last near forever.

We had the same issue with Zeke and we landed on fleece blankets. Zeke ripped up everything we put in there - and would eat a lot of the stuffing, which was dangerous. But fleece was our magic ticket. It is super tough and stood up to his teeth. It's not cushy but it's warm and kept him off the base of the crate. We just buy the cheap ones and washed them regularly - easy as pie.

I would look at Primo Pads. I've heard they're virtually indestructible and I think they have a guarantee. I plan on getting one soon :)

Thanks for the suggestions... Will look into these.

ZekeZira - I'm at least thankful that Hugo wont eat the stuffing... I just came home one day last week and the fluff was everyyyyyywhere in his crate. He looked guilty as sin too.

I second fleece blankets

Kuda had destroyed two $30 crate pads before I found fleece throws at Big Lots for $3 each. Easy to wash, take only a few minutes to dry, cheap, and not fun for her to chew - a perfect solution for us!

Personally, I use towels in both of my dogs' crates. I started this with Loki because he used to have separation anxiety issues and would rip up a bed if I put it in there with him. Once I switched to towels I no longer had the issue. I've never used anything but towels for my German Shepherd and he really never chewed on them much.

Plus you can buy towels for a couple bucks each at the store and they're really easy to clean compared to most dog beds, so it's a great deal. :)

We use fleece too. No stuffing, No fun... he deconstructs everything that has stuffing. Beds, toys etc. Won't play with the toys that don't have stuffing and he hasn't torn up the fleece blankets in his kennel.
