Harleyboxer, maybe the older can teach the younger. I can't say the same about people food because mine has had a taste. That's all it took. I don't think my sandwich would be safe at all for any length of time.

He is a vaccuum for picking up little things like rocks and small pieces of wood from the fireplace log holder but no furniture, clothing, bedding.
I spoke too soon on this one. My boyfriend just called and said he put him in his crate. He chewed a piece of the wood from the log rack. He knew he was wrong too cause when he walked in, Buddy went under the coffee table and ducks his head. He pretty much gives himself away. But, what is the fascination with the wood? I would think the splinters would hurt a little.

Evidently, Buddy was on BW reading the posts about these boxers that chew/eat things and thought he'd try it himself lol. I can't tell you how many times I have looked at Ty and just said "why, why would you eat this?" Silly babies!

You would think they would find something a little more flavorful. He's really going to think his crate is for punishment now. He knew he did something wrong and Jim put him in it before going back to work. I feel bad that he's back in it. He was doing so good and had me braggin' and everything.

I had this same problem with Hobie shredding his crate bedding. Just recently I put a yard of unfinished fleece in there like a blanket and before I leave I spray the corners with just a sprinkle of vinegar. I also play a classical guitar cd next to his crate. In the two weeks I've been doing this he has not chewed a thing! Also, when I used to come home he would stand in his crate as soon as I opened the front door and whine to be let out. Now when I walk in he's laying comfortably in his crate and gives a big yawn and stretch before standing up. I think the combination of vinegar and soothing music works to turn him off from shredding the bedding and puts him in a more peaceful mood when he has to be in there. Good luck!

I also use fleece. I bought some unfinished at Walmart in the fabric department and she hasn't been able to shred it yet!

She destroyed my fleece pajama pants, so fleece is out. She can't rip it apart so she just chews little pieces off with he scissor jaws.
I'm thinking that there has to be some kind of indestructable foam type material. Any ideas?

Beau has shredded and/or peed on EVERYTHING I have ever put in his crate. I bought something today that I'm crossing my fingers will work. I've had what I wanted in my mind forever and finally found it today at the flea market. It's pretty much one of those mats that beauticians stand on. It's a thick layer of foam under 5/8" of nylon. It's not really soft, but it's better than the metal tray in the bottom of the crate. My brother is going to cut it to the exact size of the bottom of the crate so that he won't be able to pull the edges up. If it gets dirty, I can just take it out and hose it down. The best thing is that it was only $10 for two! I got an extra just in case he does figure out a way to destroy it evilicon I'll let you know if it works!
