My six year old male fawn "Copper" is frequently very pink in the evening, around his nose, ears, mouth and between his toes. He's not scratching. It's usually gone in the morning. I can't think of anything he's around at night that he's not around during the day. He's not given treats and I've been feeding Nutro Lamb & Rice kibble only and eats both morning and evening. I recently bought a boxer puppy calendar and noticed that one of the puppies was very pink. This guy adopted me about 4 months ago and has stolen my heart.

Is pink normal?

Thank you for your help.

Gracie gets very pink when she is tired--all her flashy spots (muzzle, collar, chest) become pink. if he is not bothered, it could just be he is tired, or maybe just warm? is the heat on higher in the evenings in your house?

My girl would always really "pink" up when she was tired or excited. I would really notice it if she had a hard day of playing and it was time to sleep for her. And she was no pup..

Like sidhewlf said, if he's not scratching or swollen I'd attribute it to being tired/excited.

I always notice that Skye gets pink towards the end of the day, too. She and Colby were wrestling a little while ago and her chin was super pink...I thought maybe she had gotten into the trashcan, but she didn't. I think her's is definitely due to excitement, tired, heat, etc...we've had a fire every night b/c it's so cold here and she sits in the same room as the fireplace.
