Incontinence in a dog has many causes whether its psychological or medical. Have you noticed her drinking water more often than usual? In the medical field they call this pu/pd or polyuria(excessive urination)/polydipsia(excessive drinking). Incontinence is definitely associated with these symptoms. Unfortunately, these symptoms are very hard to diagnose because essentially the doctor has to rule out every underlying cause one by one. They do this with blood, urinalysis, culture, etc.. It could also be a behavioral problem...any changes to house, new living environments, new people in the house, any stress from the housemembers (losing a job/loved one, going thru financial troubles, etc), can all have an effect on the dog. Ive been going thru the same problem with my molly...she also started to urinate with more frequency, urinating oceans, dribbling in the house, bedwetting, and an insatiable thirst. After ruling out the more common causes, we came up with diagnosis of central diabetes insipidus (not being able to concentrate urine, meaning the body is just dumping water thru her urine,which causes her to drink more water to replace what her body's been dumping). Unfortuntely in my case, we dont have definitive underlying cause of diabetes insipidus because i just dont have the money to get an MRI...tumors in the brain/pituitary gland can cause diabetes insipidus. My point is definitely bring her to the vet to make sure there isnt an underlying medical cause for her incontinence. It could be something simple as behavioral problem to more serious problems (ie uti, kidney/bladder infection/disease, tumors, cushings, etc).
