I don't think that the color really influences the energy level. Our white boxer Shiner, was a lot more laid back than our brindle boy Cuatro. However, our new brindle female pup is much more laid back than Cuatro too. Come to think of it, a tasmanian devil would be considered more laid back than Cuatro.

Sorry, I digress. My experience around white boxers has been that they vary like fawns and brindles. Some are hyper and some are not. However, they have all been very sweet.

I can't imagine deafness would have any bearing on basic personality. The only deaf Boxer I knew (colored) was just as active/energetic as his hearing littermates. There are some Boxers that are more laid back than others, but I haven't seen any evidence to tie that to gender, color, deafness, markings, etc.

What about the deaf ones?

I have to agree with Julie. Shiner was deaf, but it did not slow her down. Although she was laid back, she did get wild and like to play. Oh, and by the way, deaf dogs do the woo-woo song too! In fact, she did it a lot.

Maddie (who is deaf) is just as active and playful as any other 9 month old boxer puppy!! If you would see her, you would never guess or know she is deaf unless I told you or if you tried calling her. I have never met any other deaf boxers so I can only speak from my experiance with Maddie, her deafness does not slow her down one bit and she leads a perfectly spoiled life just like her brother :p

Beau's breeder has a deaf white boxer that she kept because she didn't think anyone would love him like she does. He's quite a looker and very sweet. I'd love him!

Normally the first thing people ask me when they find out that I have a white boxer is "Is he deaf?"

I get asked the same thing. I think a lot of people assume that most white boxers are deaf even though that's not the case.

Snowball was a white Boxer

We use to live two doors down from this young couple. They had two boxer one was a white and couldn't hear. I asked them joking if the other dog did sign language with him. About that time my own boxer reached up and wacked him on the nose. It was one of those moments that make you laugh out loud.

My sister had a white Great Dane that was also deaf. It ended up not living cause she had ate a coller at her old home and it was not passed well. Nobody knew she had ate it in time to save her life.
