I'm So Upset

As you may or may not know my wonderful boxer Doccy is locked up in a kennel for something that he didn't do. My boyfriends hand passed through his mouth at the wrong time and my boyfriend had to get stiches. The people in the emergency room reported it to animal control and they took my Doccy away for 10 days. When I went to visit him this morning when the vets office opened they told me that they didn't take him out this morning or fed him with the other dogs because they knew I would be by sometime this morning and he is to hard to get back in his kennel. Doccy is used to going potty first thing in the morning and for them not to take him out because he doesn't want to go back in when they are done (he has never been locked before, what do they expect?) is crap. That is there job. I don't know what I am going to do, it is hard enough to have him gone and then I hear this. Also, I don't know if my going to visit him and then having to put him back myself (becuase they don't want to) is harder on him. I want to see him, but I just don't know. Will this affect him for the rest of my life. Do you have any ideas on what I should do????

I am sorry your boxer is locked up. That is horrible. Was your boyfriend playing with him when he got bit?

Poor baby. Where I live, a bite offence is also a 10 day quarantine. But at least it is at the home of the owner. But a second offence will have the dog put down immediately :(

(((HUGS)))) This is unfortunate. Just go see him everyday and hopefully the 10 days will go quickly.

I have never heard of this before, I don't know what the law is here.

How is Doccy doing? I would visit every day if I were you, then he would know you still love him!lovicon

I agree....Go and see him each and every day.
He needs to see you and know that you will
be there for him. I'm so sorry for your and Doccy's
sad situation. I hope the 10 days will speed right
by and you can get him back home!

The samething happened to me and I went to visit my boy everyday. I walked him and brushed him everyday, so he would know I didn't forget him. I did not affect him later in life. I worked at a vet clinic and took him to work with me, and he did not mind.

Ask the vet clinic to take him out, and then when you go he will have more chances to be out of the cage. You are paying for him to stay there, so make sure they take him out.
