WOW, thank you all for your advice and support. I know it will get better. Cooper is a great addition to our family, and we love him. It is wonderful to be able to come here and get this kind of support. I will try to keep you all posted as time goes on. Cooper thanks you too.:p Misty

Wow...Cooper had a tough beginning being seperated from his litter and Mamma so young! That is very sad and the owner of his Mamma needs a good smashicon !!!
A puppy is very much like a toddler when potty training! It's an up and down situation. They are doing great one week and totally regress the next! It's also a "control" thing. As in all training...it takes time and consistency. Words that I consider to be the gospel when training..."PRAISE & REWARD"!!:D At his age, he should be taken out every 30 min. Give him every opportunity to succeed and he will prove to you that he can!;)
Good Luck...and it does get better....MUCH better!:)

It must be so frustrating but hang in there. When and if you catch him in the act again just quickly and silently pick him up...he will immediately stop peeing. Take him right outside and put him down. Don't make a fuss unless he finishes peeing. It worked for us.

I looked at your gallery and he is sooooo cute! I admire you for saving him too! It's good there are people like you out there. I can't believe someone would throw puppies out in the snow like that!

First of all, Cooper is such a cutie little baby!
And thank you so much for saving him from that horrible situation. Poor little thing.
As far as potty training, don't worry, as you know he is just a baby, and it'll take time. Just remind him every time you take him outside to go potty, he is probably confused now, and he might think that outside is a place to play. So keep telling him to go do his business outside and when he does praise him a lot, just like you said you are doing.

Good luck with your little boy, he is so cute!

Copper is one cutie pie!
Oskar still had the occational accident up until he was about 5 months. He's 9.5 months now and so far no accidents. Hang in there and stock up on the paper towels and mops!

Harley is 10 months and still occasionally has a pee accident. It's usually when he's all excited over company and forgets to go to the door  .
