Good Morning! This morning when I took 4 month old kayla out........she has these nasty looking...actually looks like spagetti....worms in her poopy. The vet doesn't open till 10......and I'm freaking out! I had to have my 10 year old daughter put a sample in a baggie.

I know how you feel:(

Krose had those once too. Vet gave some worm pills and it killed them instantly and he had never again had them. I think it has to do with age too because when Krose had them, he was young too.
Don't freak out. If she's acting normal and you are going to the vet, everything will be fine. Krose was to the point where he did not eat for 2 days and his stomach was making awful sounds. But after the pills, he was alright;)

good luck, we are sending you fast healing vibes))))))

thank you.......I'm so worried. I just had her to the vet yesterday for her rabies, distemper shots. everything seemed fine. Since she's always trying to get into things I always look at her poopy when I take her out. thank you again. I wonder how she got them? My daughter caught her eating rabbit turds out in the front yard, maybe that has something to do with it?

When they are puppies, their system, immune and digestive-altogether, is not strong. Therefore, they are open to any kind of sickness. I have no idea where Krose got the worms, he is not the type of dog that gets into everything but he does smell other dog's poops:rolleyes:

relax. Everything will be fine:)

Those sound like Roundworms. Are you sure your vet didn't worm her? You usually don't see roundworms, at least not whole and not that many if they're living in the dog. But when wormed, they will soon pass a large amount of spaghetti looking worms - some still alive. They are nasty looking things!

I agree with nanabear, they definitly sound like roundworms. When we first got Rocks he was infested with them and would pass a lot in his stool. He got wormed and that was the end of it. :)

she was just tested and wormed 4 weeks ago at her 1st visit. I thought everything was fine. Now I'm waiting for the vet to call me back. I wanted to get some meds for my 6 year old boxer just in case he winds up getting them....but I only have about $60. thank goodness it's payday. I guess I got worried because of my old neighbor....her puppy had worms and died. I guess it was a different worm

I worm my dogs twice, 14 days apart. The dewormer doesn't kill eggs. The egss hatch after about 10-14 days. If you only worm once, the eggs hatch and start the cycle all over again. It does sound like round worm and you're right...it is absolutely disgusting.

Yep, definitely sounds like round worms.
If you call your vet, most of the time they will give you the medication for round worms without having to come in for an appointment.
They are usually treated with either Stongid-T or Panacur.
Both are inexpensive and work well.
Best wishes to you!!
