Hello all,

I am new to the boxer board. My name is Rich and I'm a proud new dad of two boxer puppies. Oz my male brindle and Zoie my female white. I got them both so they will have play mates growing up and let me tell you two puppies are a hand full. They are brother and sister and I will be getting them fixed as soon as they are ready. So if anyone have any tips for me I would love to hear them. I have been reading the board about 2 months and thanks to this board I did go with boxers.

Thanks,
Rich

Congratulations Rich, on choosing the greatest breed ever!

You will now be introduced to the wonderful world of boxer puppydom:LOL:

Yes< we have all survived it and many here with two pups together.

Did we come out sane? foolicon
Who knows? But we sure wouldn't swop it for anything.

You might want to get them to a puppy preschool class, to socialise and teach some basic commands. For this you will need a helper and lots of patientce! Sit away from each other as they will just want to play, and play, and play........

Another good idea is to give them some outings seperately, as they are growing up.

If you have a partner it is a good opportunity to go for a seperate walk and meet up later at a doggie park or similar.

Its good for their confidence to spend a little time just being a singular dog, with mum or dad.

Boxers thrive on human and doggie company so they will no doubt be the best of mates.

Congrats!!!

partyicon Woooo Hoooo!partyicon What a brave man you are! Congrats on the new babies! I love white boxers. I fell in love with one at the North Eastern Boxer rescue webpage named MEdina.. but then I got paranoid about getting an adult dog with such little children. So we opted with a puppy! Many great days ahead for you! Congrats again!

Congrats!!!!partyicon I have a two and a half year old male. Not only is he my first boxer, but he was my first dog ever. What a life changing experience that was. Within the first week of getting him, I thought I was going insane. I actually got sick with a temperature and everything. All I kept saying was: "I want my old life back" At first it was a shock to my system, but now I will never live my life without a boxer. You are in for so many laughs and so much love. Anyway, I could give you so much advice right now, but let me keep it simple for now. What you will need to know for the first few months is how to get them on a schedule. I strongly, strongly, strongly recommend that you take out at least a half hour to bring them somewhere where they are getting continuous excersize. (for me the best place was a safely enclosed park where I could take him off the leash and either let him socialize and get all of that puppy energy out or we could practice some obiedeance training.) Most importantly (for your sanity) TIRE THEM OUT. I would literally look like a maniac asking people I barely knew if they wanted to take their dog to the park to play with my dog. Even in below zero weather. Anyway, its good for them and you. Hope this helps. Congrats again.

Hi Rich, and welcome to the nutty world of Boxer Lovers. We got our first one about 2 years ago and have never looked back. Getting two at one time is a great idea, even if it is a lot of work. (It gets awful crowded in the bed at night):D
They truly are the best breed around and they will make you laugh all of the time. Good luck with your puppies and we look forward to pictures soon.
