ok every sunday morning, we take niko to the van horn dog park....
anyone is invited to come with.....
we are there around 830-900 till when ever he gets tired, normally it is pretty quiet then also there is a bulldog/mastiff mix that we play with and the owner knows bully breeds so he doesnt worry when they are playing seeing as boxers do get pretty vocal and it sounds like thre fighting..
would love to go. can you please provide directions to the park from indiana? Or at least which city/town it's located? i would be taking I-294, where I-80, and I-94 all meet.
I80 to Larkin, Larkin (right) to rt 30, rt 30 (left) to caton farm rd, caton farm (left) to Fropntage (over I55) turn right on to the frontage and itll be down a bit on left hand side
thank you very much for the directions. hopefully we'll get some nice sunday mornings soon, so apollo and i can join you. his birthday is next friday (march 18th), so we're looking to do something special for him.
No no no. Take I-80 to I-55. I forgot what the exit was but it's the first street north of the park if anyone can remember the name. The time I went I went via these directions and it was very easy. Too many lights the otherway. Apollo I came from Steger which is your way.
Edit: I think the street is Caton Farm Rd. Take it west to the first left you can take(frontage rd) and go to the park.
i'm coming from highland, in. it's nearby lansing,il, so it's like coming form calumet city area. i'll be getting on 94 in indiana and taking it west into illinois where it splits up into either 94, 294 or 80 and 57. i'll take your directions since they sound much easier. thanks for the tip.
i'm assuming since your coming from steger do you come up 394?
When I went I took I-57. Going that way for me is much easier than hitting the whole I-80/294 mess. I won't be going to the park though. I was dumb enough to take Sapphire there soon after I first got her (she was 2) and I didn't quite now how she would react. Well she played ook with the boxers but not with the other dogs. Since then I have come to realize she doesn't like girl dogs. She seems like she does ok with boy dogs. I'm not going to take another chance and have her hurt another dog. I would consider trying a backyard party where things are a little more controlled but that would be it.
this might be an option sometime this summer, our yard isnt huge but its big enough for a few boxers to play in, it has to be big enough because of niko and we are aquiring a new dobe in the next few months :D
sunday March 13th, we will be there with niko and my moms dog orian(sheltie) we are dog sitting over the weekend so if anyone is up for it come on out.....sunday morning
we will be ther about 9, if someone posts up we can either come later or stay later.....
