There are about 4 nice dog parks up here. If anyone was ever interested I'd be willing to meet up here somewhere. If you are concerned about the fee, you could meet me and go in my car that has a sticker and you would not have to pay for just going for the one time. They are in Lake County, and all fenced in. I go almost every day. I am new to this forum, and have a 6 month old male, Cody.

Where at? All you need is a sticker? The parks I have been to, you have to wear a pass on you. I actually got kicked out of a park by police because I didnt have one. Oops. That was before I knew and before I bothered reading signs.

The one I go to is at Rt. 176 and Fairfield in Wauconda. There is another on Waukegan Rd. in Lake Forest. One somewhere farther north I think on Rt. 132, not sure about that address, and one on Milwaukee Ave. I think off of Peterson. All in Lake County. You can pay a one day fee, or get a season pass. The fee is paid into a box, and you put the stub in your window shield. They have forest pres. police that come and check cars for either the stub, or season pass stickers. I have the season pass sticker. You do get a little dog tag, but no one has every come into the park and checked if I have them. I do, on my car key ring, but no one has ever checked me for it. So it is enforced by the cars in the lot. If you come with someone else, there is no problem. There is outhouse type facilities, nicer than outhouses really, at each place, some have a hose for drinks for dogs, or well with pump, some have small ponds, and the one on Milwaukee has a larger, small lake the dogs can go in. I wouldn't let mine in there, but some people do.
The one I go to is 2/3 open field, 1/3 wooded with trails. All are fenced, but some only on 3 sides. There is a link to the dog parks on Lake Counties forest preserve site.

I cant Sat b/c going to MO to pick up new dog. Mid morning is fine if you want to. I might go just on my own anyway if nobody shows, since our yard isnt fenced. Maybe Harley/new puppy can get to know each other there.

I'll be there at 10.

Weather looks to be okay tomorrow. Hi 56, Low 32. Windy, but I doubt it will be windier than today was!

Spud probably won't play, seems he is a little intimidated by Harley. I think he will probably watch.

I'm totally in for a Boxer Bash/Play Date. Please let me know what dates and times your thinking of. We've have had some nice weather and Jake loves to play with other boxers.

I live on the Southside of Chicago the home of the World Series White Sox so let me know.

We wanna play...even if it's cold...we've got jackets!

It's NOT a dog park, but it's fenced now and no people go there. The 53rd street beach by the Museum of Science and industry is PERFECT to let the dogs run around. Lots of us locals do it and the cops don't bother us. Unfortunately, whenever i go, everyone else isnt' there...i can't get the timing quite right. :)

Domino is in DESPERATE need of some boxer time. None of the dogs in our neighborhood are well socialized and they try to 'eat' him. :(

It's in view of 'the point' which is listed as a dog park, but i'm not sure why...i've been there and nothing's fenced but it does have a huge patch of green for them to go crazy in.

I would love to have a playdate. I am up for any weekend. Except this weekend. My mom is refusing to watch any babies (my son or my niece) because this is her first weekend off (my sister works weekends usually). I can't handle 2 dogs and a toddler, plus its too cold to bring my son out.

I can get together next weekend

I would REALLY like to get together when it snows. They would have a blast.

I want to get together soon. Spud was terrified last time we went. Understandable, we only had him 1 day when I brought him. He is much more outgoing now. I want him to get some socialization before he gets older and is permanantly afraid of dog parks.

Anyone up for this weekend?

Lennox is up for a playdate.

Let me know if anyone is coming out this weekend Saturday or Sunday either day should work for us (12-1 or so). We usually go out to Spring Ave Park in Glen Ellyn it's not too close from our house in River Grove but Leni looves it there. On any given day there are at least 5 doggie pals for him to play with. I am willing to go out into the city or Northern suburbs....just as long as there are other boxers he can play with.

Let us know! :)

Linswatson: If you're asking about the the Spring Ave Park it's located in the back of the Glen Ellyn park district building right off of Spring Ave & Rte. 53

I take 355 south get off on Roosevelt west go to Rte 53 and you'll hit Spring Ave - which is a small street but if you pass it you will also pass the dog park so you'll know to turn around. these aren't great directions but it's a start :)

Lennox & I will be there for sure Saturday at around 12, we are meeting up with his cousin :) (my girlfriends Jack Russel Terrier)....it would be awesome to have other boxer babies to join us!!!!
