If the boxer did not exist today, which other breed do you think you'd be going crazy over?? I would most likely be the proud owner of bullmastiffs. From what I've read and heard, they're very similar to boxers. I really tend to like muscular dogs that make great family pets.

I know that having to pick another breed in place of a boxer will be near to impossible for some of you. Just try to imagine a world without boxers... just long enough to answer this question!! ;) I think it'll be fun hearing about other popular breeds amongst us boxer fanatics!!!

Completely Boxer Crazy
I must agree with you....Bullmastiffs would be my second breed choice if I absolutely HAD to pick (though there is no better breed than a boxer) They're so big and cuddly. I could just hug them and kiss them and squeeze them....... :D

I would have to choose any breed that is cute, wrinkly, cudley, and smart. I could live w/out the gas, tho :)

Bullmastiffs would be my second choice...... what a world it would be without Boxers.

I would personally go for the English Bulldog just because of their smushed faces, wrinkles and they are more compact.

Can't imagine it!
But, if it ever was so, I would have a Boston Terrier.
I also like an English Setter.
Sometimes I think I would like a smaller breed, but then I know that I am so spoiled with these boxers and their great personalities, I don't think I would be as happy with another breed!

sharpei are okay!

i once had a rescue sharpei foster baby for a short while, what a sweet and charming fellow he was. He was very quiet, so it took awhile to figure out what he was all about, but turned out he was quite the thinker, loved children, was a big baby, funny in a more quiet way, and very loving. I would have probably kept him, but my (then) boxer baby Beau didn't care for him as much as I did, to say the least, and someone else had a nice home for him. So if I were to find myself in a world without boxers( impossible to imagine) I would love to have a sharpei baby.

I would love an English Bulldog. From what I have read they have much the same loving personality of a boxer but they are much less hyper. More the couch potato type.

It isn't possible! I finally found boxers and imagining them not here is IMPOSSIBLE!!
but.............:D if I had no choice I'd have to say a rott would be my choice. That or a mastiff.
