Boxer Pal
Hi all and thank you in advance for any help.
Last night I noticed that Oscar, our 4yr. old, was acting out of sorts. He was trembling quite a bit, as if cold or scared, even though the house was warm and it was just the wife and I here. I didnt think much of it at first, but when it came time to go to bed, he didn't seem to be ambulating all that well. Almost as if it hurt to move, even though he made no sounds of discomfort. About that time I also noticed that he seemed to be breathing much more shallow than usual. It wasn't a particularly rapid breathing, but it did seem somewhat labored. I also noticed that he hadn't eaten or drank very much if anything since afternoon, early evening.
I stayed up most of the rest of the night keeping an eye on him, and towards morning he seemed to be breathing a bit better, but was still trembling now and then.
When we woke up, I noticed that he still didn't want to move much, but seems to be breathing almost normally. His eyes popped right open and he seemed alert when I knelt down by him, so I took that as a good sign. And we just got him to eat a little leftover pot. and carrots that we had warmed a bit for him. To our knowledge he has never had any health issues in the past but we are checking with our son to make sure, as we inherited Oscar from him when he moved out.
I am probably (hopefully) just freaking out over nothing, but I wanted to post my thoughts here and see if anyone had any ideas or suggestions. All of the vets around here are closed until Monday, so don't know what options I have.
