Thank you Sarah, but we are fully aware of Iams pet food here. If you do a search here on Iams you will that it isn't well liked. :)

Thank you so much for the information...I wasn't aware of that. We used to have Iams, but our first "fur baby", Bentley, threw up ALL the time when she was on that. Now we have switched and she's not throwing up anymore! So we are happy about that! Thanks again.

no to Iams!

I have known about Iams, and the horrible tests they do on Animals, and I will never use Iams, or Iams related products again!

IAMS is over rated, I buy Nutro products and love them, so do my doggies!! I would reccommend them to anyone.
I Have been to the iamscruelty site and was disgusted as well, and I have never even used IAMS.............

I am so shocked at this. It is absolutely awful! Those poor animals. We don't use Iams anyway since we've heard it's not very good.Is there anything the law can do about this?

Can't believe it!

Thank you sooo much for this info. We just switched our boxers to Euganeuba (spelling?) per our vets recommendation. It is a product of Iams. I will NOT be purchasing it any more and I will forward this article to my vet TODAY, who was the one that recommended we switch and to my mom, who's boxer is on Iams. This is appalling, thanks for your research.

Maybe you'll luck out with your vet but the problem with forwarding this to the vet is that many of them get a kick back for the referral of food. That is why many of them sell food in their office. I've found that their are great recommendations on this board and in the whole dog journal since there isn't any advertising and all recommendations are based on personal experience and testing. Good luck with your vet.

It was my understanding that WDJ didn't test the food, just analyzed the ingredients. (Anyway, I'm not sure what's meant by "testing." Feed trials? Running the food through nutrient checks?)

That had to have been one of THE most heartbreaking editorials I have ever read, and some of THE worst visuals as well. I had no idea! I was never satisfied with Iams food to begin with (Never fed it to Sirus, just never trusted the label) but that just drew the line. My parents feed their yellow lab Iams, and it use to make him sick, so they switched, and now they are doing a mix of the two...as soon as my mom gets home, I've got to show her the site that I went to...Thank you so much for the information!

Leah, James, & Sirus too!!!
