When Buster gets that wild look in his eyes and tucks that booty under, I just have to double over and laugh. I know it's gonna take a few minutes!!!! I love to watch him burnin'!!!

There's nothing quite like that first real burn, is there? The fun never ends with these foolicon boxers! I hadn't a clue what was going on when Spud did his first one in the house. Now we just recognise the signs (he gets a "pre-burn" expression on his face and you KNOW there's going to be trouble!) and we make sure that there's nothing breakable in the way!

Lily will start moving things around to create an obstacle course for herself! She loves to jump over things and crawl under things as she is going full speed through the apartment and then will fly onto the couch, ricochee (sp?) off of the wall above the couch, do a twist in mid air, land on the floor and do it all over again.

We just stay out of the way!!! :)

I can't wait to see if our cats join Sam in one of his burns. They're still really skittish around him right now, but it's getting better.

I guess we'll see if all three will join in the rodeo!

Stop, Drop & Roll

I miss this so much-----when Sam was a puppy I guess he didn't really know how to stop on these "burns" so he would run full-tilt and then when he was ready to stop he'd just duck his head and do a flip. It was the only way he could stop. He turn around and go the other way and do the exact same thing. I will never forget sitting on my porch watching the "stop, drop & roll." :)

OMG our Sam must be 'chanelling' yours - he does the stop, drop and roll as well!!

Lola's mum

Oh my goodness, there's a name for it is there?
We just say Lola's having her mad 5 minutes. It doesn't matter how long a walk we take her on she comes back and runs like a loony around our (thankfully) large garden. Sometimes I get so scared she'll run into something and hurt herself. She then collapses on the floor and has a little snooze for 5 minutes. It's so funny to watch and she seems to absolutly love it. I shall now impress my hubby this evening by commenting that she's having her 'Boxer burn'
Any other traits I shouold know about, my pups only 16 weeks old?

Burns are the best. I laughed out loud after visualizing the burn you described on the 30 foot lead. I just grin ear to ear everytime Brutus does a power burn around my backyard. They are the best furry little critters out there.

Gator tries to burn, but what he does is more like the last flames of a lighter before it goes out. He is getting better though. Before long he will be burning with the best of them.

DC on the other hand will run around, over or through anything he is of a mind to. I love watching him burn! He loves taking tight turns. My favorite part is about half way through. He will suddenly stop and lay down, with his front paws out and slightly to the side, ready to go. He will pause just long enough to make you wonder if he is done, then look both ways real fast and off he goes! I just have to remember to keep the blinds drawn on the sliding glass door. He has done the "Burn and crash" into the door a time or two when the blinds were open.

You think 1 burning around the yard is funny, wait until you have 2 chasing each other now that is funny... they chase each other and stop on a dime turn and run the other way..
