Last week was really busy and exhausting for me, so Juno was cooped up at home all week, aside from one walk that I managed to squeeze in. I decided to bring her to daycare on Saturday (not just for her, but also so I could catch up on some sleep!), hoping that a day's worth of play would make it up to her.

She was there from 8am to 5pm. That night she was pretty mellow... but when she woke up on Sunday, she was wired and ready to go. Whine whine whine, beg beg beg. Toy after toy shoved in my lap. Today was the same story. Did she not get the memo that she spent 9 HOURS running and playing with other dogs, and prancing through the snow? Shouldn't she have needed at least one day to recoup from that??

Siiiiiiigh. Where is the OFF switch when ya need it?? ;)

Well if that's a "defective" trait, I've got two defective dogs. ;) One day of good hard exercise just doesn't last as long as we need it to sometimes! :)

i am so with you  it amazes me how much energy they have. why can't we tap into some of that cool2icon

If we could tap into that energy, we would be so technologically advanced that it would be like a sci-fi movie. They always amaze me with their energy levels. A five minute nap is all they need to recuperate before they're trying to burn some energy...

I guess I have some defective dogs too. We took them hiking on saturday 10 miles. By the time we drove back home (20 minute drive) they were ready to go on their walk. I was exhausted!

Defective dog here too. 8:30 - 5:30 at daycare only to come home and want to play with the loudest toy he can find! Oh, and I must play with him too.

I beg to differ. I was expecting to comment on a post about someone saying their boxer was lazy like mine, lol. No but my girl is really calm and always have been. I would think there were something wrong with her, but she's always been so calm as a puppy too. Don't get me wrong she has her hyper moments but when we are inside she's sleeping. UNLESS we have company then its a different story. She just wants to show off like they all do. My wife and I were talking the other day about how if we didn't have her what would we do.. We would be pretty boring I think. Boxers are such clowns but you have to love it

Our boy is the same way. He pretty much just goes off the energy in the house. If everyone is quiet and relaxing.. he's sleeping. If the kids start getting a little nutty.. he's right there with them. But take the last two weeks for example.. we've had A LOT going on and he really hasn't had as much exercise as usual and has spent quite a bit of time in the house and it's like he could care less. He either sleeps or he'll entertain himself with his own toys. He gets a little over the top when hubby comes home from work and bothers him a little but other then that he just goes with the flow. He's been like this since the day we got him. I couldn't imagine him being in your face and begging to be played with or anything like that. When he's playing with other dogs or like stated above when people come over he's a bit different but at home with the family he's just a laid back boxer boy. :)
