hagler

Boxer Buddy
Iv'e mentioned my problem with hagler and other dogs in a previous post(he's getting a little better now)but he's what happened last week.He still is very agressive to all other dogs puppies or not, but last week when our class was over i seen a women come in for the next class and she had a 5 month old boxer.I brought hagler over and what a shock to me,he never barked or growled, they sniffed and started jumping and playing with each other.(I let him go up to other dogs when we are on our walks, pups and adult dogs and he never acts this way,it's always very agressive, but i think it's slowly changing)I was very happy and proud of hagler.Just wondering do you think hagler knows that was another boxer? It was seriously the first time hagler ever was near any dog without "freakin out".
So what do you think? Can they tell?

Absolutly! If you do a search on this topic you should find some info as it has been discussed before and very recently. Rocks adores other boxers and knows when he is in their company. He has more respect and tolerance for them. Bizarre I know

Bandit's Lisa

Boxer Pal
Bandit has his non-boxer buddies, and boxer buddies. He plays differently with the boxers. Now that Stella has been added to the family (flashy brindle 3 months old) you should see him play! I think they do know. These darn boxers are too smart!

I think Rowdy was overwhelmed at his first boxer bash. He wouldn't hardly play with any of the other dogs. He played more with the whippets before all the other boxers arrived. When the boxers showed up, he stuck to my side. Maybe he was jealous of me petting all the "strange" dogs. Maybe it's because he was the only adult male and he had to keep his macho image intact.;)

Cayenne's Mom

Boxer Insane
Cayenne loves other boxers. She loves all dogs but she gets extra excited when around boxers. I think she knows instinctively that they know how to play with her. There is anothe boxer her age at CGC class and she stares at her all night. They are not suppose to play at class.

I think that having other dogs in your home really helps. I have a few dogs < 1 Chiuaua 2 rotties> and bruiser. They all get along very well
