I need some help........

I need your wonderful advice right now. I have Jazzy, who has been an only dog since we got her in June. Jazzy is now 9 and half months old. We brought home another boxer yesterday. Destiny is 8 weeks old and cute as a button.

My husband took Jazzy to pick up Destiny and they did fine together in the car all the way home. It ended there! Once Destiny got near me, it was WAR. Jazzy bullies her, stands over her, rolls her over, and trys to trample her. Will this end?

I know this is only the second day, but I am worried. Jazzy has always been a well mannered sweet girl and now I am seeing a side of her that doesn't fit that description.

We are being very careful to continue Jazzy's routine (play, exercise, and loving). We feel almost guilty for invading her space with another dog. Our house has always been her territory that let us share with her, .

I am desperate for advice! Thankyou!

teach Jazzy that this behavior is UNACCEPTABLE. If shes allowed to show dominace, she will. If it continues when Destiny gets older (and BIGGER) it will only get worse...

I also have to add that Jazzy started her first heat yesterday as well. Talk about bad timing to bring in a new family member.

We are supervising them closely. The puppy just wants to cuddle Jazzy, but she won't have it. I know that I have read on here that two females will be more challenging than a male/female combo, but Destiny was too cute to pass up and the breeder is reputable and fair.

Has anyone else has success with two female boxers in the same house?

We are defintely letting her know that this behavior is unnaceptable. She has had many time outs in her crate, let me tell ya! But will that work eventually?

We, too, have a nine month old boxer and have recently brought a new 8 week old boxer baby home. I was upset the first day we had her home because I couldn't get Lewis to settle down and play nice with her or to just leave her alone. He was excited and curious, then jealous and rough. He was so unlike himself... jumping up, barking, acting crazy and frantic. It's been over a week now, and things have gotten so much better with each day. They play together all the time now and get along very well. Every once in a while, Lewis will just sit on her or get a little too rough, but only for a second or two. He shares his toys and bones with her and they even cuddle sometimes. I don't know if it's different for you with two females, but I'm thinking it'll just take a bit of time for your Jazzy to adjust to the new one.

Although it is different with two females, and can be challenging, I agree that it can work. The excitement level is so high now that I think it will take a little time for things to settle down. I would keep an eye but you may find this is temporary. I must admit you are braver than me as i have always done male/female but would still have that few days of craziness when the new one came home. Good luck to you!

Well today was alot better! We are finding out that Destiny is as feisty as Jazzy is even though she is so small. We watch them play and Jazzy just "mouths" her and rolls her around, she really doesn't get mean at all. She is having a blast! They will also eat out of the very same bowl.
I am more relieved than you would know. We do watch them closely because of Jazzy's size and weight. We are having to reprimand Destiny rather than Jazzy for being too ruff. Jazzy doesn't mind it though.
We also figured out that she protects Destiny like our children. My husband was pretending to ruff the puppy up, and Jazzy came to her defense.
