I love talking to Boxer owners!

We were at the Vet on Sat. for Ginger's yearly checkup. A guy came in to purchase food, etc. Ginger ran right up to him. The guy said he also has a boxer, a 10 year old boy! We talked for awhile about how great the breed is. Ginger was getting hugs from this guy, like she doesn't get that attention at home. Then my hubby came home from work last Friday. The job he was working at, he met a guy that has 3 boxers, 1 year old & 2 9wk old pups.

It's great isn't it? When I talk to people they have either grown up with them, have them, or loves tham and wants one. Thankfully I haven't run into a person that said anything against them. I just hope that day doesn't come!

Im lucky cuz a lady I work with has a boxer boy!! His name is Chip and he's a rescue that was abused. One of these days, I hope to meet him. We would talk all day if there wasnt work to be done! LOL

I introduced Chris to boxers last year when I got Tyson. Chris had only ever had an Akita and a golden retriever when he was small. (His Akita Miko died 2 weeks before Christmas she was 13, she had suffered a stroke and his mom didn't want to take her in to be helped to the bridge, but I told her that she needed to do if for Miko. The poor girl couldn't get up or walk, and one side of her face was limp as well as the legs on the same side. She couldnt get up to go out and potty let alone support her own weight. I had never seen Chris cry before that day. I hope I helped his family make the right decision, it turned out that her heart was very weak too, she would have only had another week or so, and would have been in pain the whole time) Chris had never realized that having a boxer was like being in an elite club, you have fans, who want to see, touch and have your boxer all the time. Everyone always says "OH is that a boxer? Oh he is so handsome! See honey I want one like that! Can we get one? Oh where did you get him?!" and the life of a boxer must be such a grand thing too! always getting pats and attention and everyone wanting just one little touch of that velvety soft fur. Its great I love being a boxer owner.

The best feeling is that I adopted both of my boxers and everyone tells me how nice they are (usually what a splendid pair! is the response) they also say "how could anyone get rid of them?!" I usually tell them that no one knows forsure why people have to do things but they are happy and safe with me now forever

When Boxers meet new people, theyhave a way of acting as if they never get any loving at home. It's so funny.

Yesterday afternoon, Tae and I were sitting on the front porch reading the Sunday paper. OK, I was reading the paper. LOL. A couple stopped by to ask me to vote on Tuesday. Tae ran down to greet them and I warned them to step back--she was on a tie out and I could not grab it b/c it would have given me burns on my hand. They laughed and said it was OK b/c they have a Boxer. They were all friendly, then brought up the voting thing again. I politely assured them I'd be voting, but not for the presidential candidate whose sticker they had on. The were like "OK, thanks, bye Tae." It was so funny.

It's amazing how much attention I get walking down the street with Max! People smile at him from cars passing by! Most of the people who walk stop for a little chit chat about Boxers, and to give Max some loving since he always looks like he's deprived of that...
I have only met one person who said that Boxers are vicious dogs... She's not all there if you know what I mean, and it's my neighbour :( Oh well, that only shows how uneducated about dogs she is... especially when it comes to Boxers!
