Ok, my uncle bought a beautiful 7 wk. old lil boxer boy from a breeder for $500 to be a companion for their older boxer, about a week ago. Now that my uncle has him, he wishes that he had not bought him, or at least had waited b/c he's been having horrible headaches, so he's just not into the pup right now. Well, he "gave" the baby to my older cousin, whose kids are 13 and 16, for like a trial period, to decide whether or not they want him. I already told my uncle that if something happned, I'd definently take him! AND they are NEVER home!! My cousin's a nurse who works all day and my nephews go to school and wrestle, then go out with friends. It will be a horrible life for this pup if they decide to keep him!!! They won't spend time with him or train him. They just wouldn't have the time. They've never had a boxer and they don't know what they're in for! Obviously, I can't make her give up the baby, but is there any suggestions you guys could give me as to what I could do or anything I can say to her that could possibly make her give him to me?? Or just any suggestions, about anything, lol?? I really don't want to see this beautiful pup ruined, due to ignorance, and possibly stupidity, lol.

Thanx,
Midaelyn

If you feel you can provide a decent, loving home for his pup, I would straight out ask for it.....explaining why you think it would be better in your care than theirs.

If that doesn't work, you tried and that's all you can do.....
Good luck!

If you live close enough and have the time, you could go over everyday. Take him for a walk and play with him. Maybe once they see you are doing more work than they are, they might be more likely to give him to you.

I agree with the other two...flat out ask or offer to go over and play and let the pup out.

i'd ask for the pup too, cuz if u don't get him i would be too afraid of what might happen to him.

I flatout asked her the pup today and she said she'd think about it. Knowing her, thinking about it will take several months until something bad happens and she doesn't want him anymore...I don't know what else to do, guess I'll just have to wait and see...Thanx everyone:(

Make a $$$ offer! Thats how I got my boy kilo.. I got him from a family member who wasnt exactly all that interested in him, They didnt have much time for him so I decided to ask for the dog, I offered them money and they agreed. kingicon

I would also ask for the Pup, explaining that their busy lifestyle may not suit a dog right now and do they realize all the responsibility that comes with a new pup, I know I had to change my lifestyle to accomodate Cassius in the early days. Also do they understand all the costs that go along with the dog, 1. The Vet - Shots. 2. Good food. 3. Toys. 4. Training. 5. unexpected emergencies (possible big $$) can they safely afford all this in their current budget??.
Good Luck, I hope you get the pooch.;)
