I failed

We adopted a rescue two weeks ago. We had to give him back today. Last week he got in a dog fight while on a walk, nipped at my 10 yr old daughters face yesterday, and finally attacked my male brindle boxer this morning. He will be a great dog for someone without kids or another dog. I feel so bad. I failed. We are currently looking for a different rescue. I just don't want to make another mistake. Help!

I'm so sorry to hear about that. But, you want a dog that will be a good fit with your family and it sounds like this one just didn't work out. I am sure that he will find a home that is perfect for him, and good luck in finding one that is perfect for yours. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you hoped.

It's not your fault. He may have been a good dog...just not for you. Don't give up. Think of all the dogs you have/will help.

Please don't blame yourself. It's up to the rescue now to find him a home that fits his needs, it's just that you had to be the unfortunate one who discovered all the things he can't deal with. You did the right thing by not waiting until something really serious happened, you really would have regretted that.
