I bet the man at Pet supply Plus thought I was a stalker

I had to drive to Kokomo yesterday to get my babies their food. No one in my area has any good dog food. :( While I was there I over heard this man talking to the store clerk about just rescuing a white male boxer and he was out in the car with his wife. Well I'm sure you guys know what I did next. I had to go over there and start talking to him. He had just picked him up and was looking for a collar and leash. I helped him pick out the size because he was about the same size as Atlas. Well of course when I left I had to go to the van and see him. He was so handsome. He was all white with a brindle patch over his right eye. I got lots of kisses and then I was on my way.

well.. i met a mean boxer owner once in Petsmart.. i was like all chatty ... and he interrupted me saying "why are you talking to me???"

He was really nice. He thanked me for helping him and I told him about BW! When I was leaving they were finally taking him into the store to try on the collars. I also asked him what kind of dog food he was using and he said Purina:eek: I told him about several good foods. Hopefully he will change.

I get so excited when I see another boxer and when I'm at Petco with mine, there are always the boxer owners who come running up two us. Were just a different breed ourselves (in a good way of course)

Ive done the same thing! Met a nice boxer (and his owner) in petco last weekend. Ran up without a second thought and started talking. Evidently his owner was shocked at the dogs reaction. She had him in Petco socializing him as he was afriad of crowded stores. He came right up to me wanting pets. She laughed and said "well he must have known you had boxers!" (my two were at home at the time) Never ceases to amaze me that we are all crazy about our breed, and will go to great lengths to meet another boxer. I personally enjoy being stalked!

I had something similar happen at Petsmart, but it was the owner AND the dog.

We freequently take Diesel "shopping" and one night we encountered a big, square-shaped boxer named something like Brutus. It was fitting to say the least.

Now, Diesel is thinner and longer than most boxers because he is from a backyard breeder (he was a rescue. I do not support backyard breeders, for the record!), but he is just as sociable and outgoing and friendly as any other boxer you'll meet. Every boxer I've ever met has been the same way.

Brutus, however, did not like anyone, at all. I walked over to the guy, Diesel on a leash and under control, and started talking to the owner, who looked at me uncomfortably. We weren't within reaching distance, though Diesel was definitely trying. I asked about he dog and received short, one-word answers, and then Brutus, even though Diesel was just about bending in half and flipping over on his side in submission and friendliness, GROWLED at my dog! I just about jumped out of my skin! I've never seen a boxer act so impolite! I guess he learned it from the owner!

But most of the people at Petsmart, whether or not they're boxer owners, are friendly and curious about Diesel and always comment on how pretty he is and how well-behaved. He makes me so proud!
