You will notice at the bottom of each post there is an e-mail button. You can edit your options to allow people to e-mail you or not. It's your call.

You can also use the private message when you want to contact another member. The only drawback to the pm's is that the available space for messages can get filled up quickly.

I'm still learning my way around.
