HUGE scare today at the vet!!!

I'm so glad that she bounced back. Wow I bet you were in tears. I'm glad it all worked out okay and the vet was so great about not charging you. I actually do not recall my vet saying anything about a lyme shot. I will ask when I take Lucy in on the 17th for her final set of puppy shots. It sounds like something I do not want to deal with.

chloe had her shot today and just to be on the safe side i let her walk around for a while outside. she is fine. i did ask before they gave her the shot about the reaction and the vet said the same thing about it being rare but it does happen, just like people, you just done know when a reaction will hit. luckily she didnt have one all she wanted was to go home.

Hi everyone,
Riley and I thank you SO much for your kind thoughts!! She did fine last night...although I didn't get much sleep! She's okay now, just tired still from the Benadryl because she'll be on it for another couple of days. The vet said to get up a few times during the night to check on her, so I set my alarm clock for 1am and then again at 3am. Riley had to go to the bathroom around 2:30 because they gave her so many fluids yesterday in the IV. Then, we got up again at 5am to give her the Benadryl. So, needless to say I am a little tired today too!
Bucca- So happy to hear that Chloe was fine...it wasn't likely to happen since Riley's reaction was so rare, but better to be safe than sorry!=)
Since Riley can't have the Lyme vaccine anymore...besides the Frontline Plus does anyone know if there is anything else I can do to keep the ticks away? She's protected against it for the next year since she had the vaccine, but after that I was wondering what I could do to prevent it?
