Welcome to BW!! I know you will find the right breed and the right thing to do as far as getting a dog. I have got a 12 week old boy Maxwell and he is the best ever with my grandchildren. Whenever he sees a child he just wants to play. Keep us updated on your family and decision what ever it is.

Hi and Welcome to BW. Glad to hear your doing research before taking the plunge. I knew in the spring that we were going to get a dog, wasn't sure on breed then, and that it would have to wait until the fall when my business slows down. Best thing I could have done, good luck in your search. When the right pup comes along you'll know. Keep us posted.

I applied yesterday for Lola

I think we found the dog that we'd like to adopt. There is currently an adoption pending on Lola. It's back to the original owners. They had to move from TX to CA and thought they wouldn't have the room. So, it'll hopefully be good either way.

If that falls through, we're going to keep looking.

If you want to see (hopefully our) Lola - check here:

Too bad for us...

Well - it looks like Lola is going to back to her original owners in Cali. Hopefully they won't just give her back up there. If they don't then that's the best thing for Lola.

So - that means we're still looking. There is a rescue (the Cali based one that has a branch in Tx) for boxers but we can't qualify for it b/c our kids are both younger than 5.

Anyone else have any recommendations on where we can get a good boxer rescue who's extremely good with other pets and children and about a year or two old?

Hi Chad0429 -

You may want to ask this question in the Rescue/Adoptions Forum. You'll get many more meaningful responses, as this Forum is for Introductions only :)
