Well yesterday was our first fourth of July with Cherokee. We went out for a little bit but other than that we stayed home and barbecued with some neighbors. Jason lit some sparklers and that was it. Cherokee didn't mind the noise and did well.
Just curious how all the other furbabies out there did yesterday?

Furbabies 4th

I took the boys to the dog park as it only cools down here (Gilbert, AZ) about 9pm. We saw fireworks in the distance and enjoyed them without the noise. Rebel is used to them and pays no attention. Blue was funny. When the first fireworks started, he ran across the park chasing them:p They were the drippy fireworks that explode in a cascading motion. It was a riot, he was so cute and very interested in "catching" these bright lights.

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th!

My Bailey and Riley had the best day. We went to a little mountain town called Ouray (the Switzerland of America it is called). They are known for their fireworks. We went up around noon and they have this Huge water fight with fire man's hoses and all sorts of water things. The girls loved this because it cooled them off. We walked around for a while and I swear, every other person had to stop and talk to us about our dogs and tell us thier boxer stories. They people we went with were amazed with the attention you get when you have boxers. No one with a lab or golden retriever has to tell their stories to as many people as we did. After that we went on a hike up a waterfall and I think that the girls had more fun than ever before. They splashed in the river and walked on all the rocks, too cute. We went back into town and claimed our spot for fireworks and the girls both slept through the fireworks and the flare parade
(all sorts of jeeps with flares on the bumpers) waking up a couple times to see what was going on. I guess fireworks don't effect them much. Needless to say, they would not get up this morning, they are still pooped out. :):):)

We didnt go watch the fireworks anywhere. But our neighbor accross the street was lighting some off. And we turned the tv off and all the lights and Jazz & Chase sat in the window on the couch and watched their fireworks. It wasn't too long when Jazz became bored! However, Chase was pretty fascinated!:D

Fun Night

We had a good night, we went to a local FW display (the one in Philadelphia was way to crowded, 1 million +!!! ) and sat and watched the display. Cookie was people watching and hardly noticed the overhead display  We then came home and watched the Philly FW on tv :) so we got the best of both with out the heavy crowding ;)

Some of our neighbors were setting off fireworks, which scared the tar out of Boomer. He hid from them, and it took a lot of coaxing to get him out of hiding and into the house.

Legend being the STINKER he is.....

Several neighbors were shooting off fireworks last night (sounded like we were under attack!) and Legend went to ring the bell to go outside. My husband let him outside and all he wanted to do was sit on the deck and watch them! He didn't mind the noise at all. He'd sit there and sniff the air too (I guess that burnt smell). We brought him in and a few minutes later he was ringing the bell again.....we let him out and he's just sitting there watching the show!

What a silly boy!

I had to turn the AC up all the way and turn the TV up to get stanley to stop barking at the firecrackers that the local yocals were lighting off...for the most part he was really well behaved though...

Abby had her second day of swimming on the 4th, which she loved. Then she played with a friend's dog all afternoon, walked to a park to view the fireworks and slept from beginning to end. I guess that's a good first experience! sleepicon

Rayna did so GOOD....we took her to the dog park around 7:00pm and stayed until 8:00pm.....some fire works were going off...she wasnt even paying any attention....then we went home and a high school nearby does a BIG firework show and My husband and I went outside to watch......we looked in the window and Rayna was just watching us.....so we leashed her and let her watch with us.......then the sprinklers came on in front of our aptment and she was more interested in playing with them than she was the fireworks .....our neighbor came out and was amazed at how good she was doing......she was also LAUGHING from watching Rayna try to EAT the water from the sprinklers
