Bitter Apple...

I don't know if this will work on clothes (and before you try it on something like your wife's work clothes you may want to test it on old clothes) but Bitter Apple is great for stuff like this! Its a spray we picked up at PetsMart and it tastes nasty (just ask my hubby - he accidentally got some on his hand and did not enjoy it!). We actually used it on our trash can to keep Katie out of it and we are not spraying it on the back of our terriers ears (Katie likes to grab her by the ears but it is causing Dora to keep getting ear infections.) Anyway the dog gets a little taste of that and they immediately back away from the object! It is worth a try...at least on the clothes...be careful about getting it on you and "tasting" it!

Hope this helps.

Sadie used to lick a lot but I trained her and Rocky(my toy poodle) with the "no lick" command. Every time they would lick I would sternly (the stern voice stops the action) say no lick and then praise. My poodle would lick himself, your hand, the air, obsessively and the "no lick" really works for him. He still has be be reminded almost daily but stops when you say it. It will take a while for them to connect the phrase with the action but it really works. Good luck.
