Boxer Insane
We just got one of those red laser light things the other day for Dakota and figured we'd try it out and see if he liked it and it is sooooo funny to watch him run around the house chasing it. I ended up stopping because my thumb was starting to hurt from holding the button down but he didn't seem to get bored with it yet. Too funny!
The BEST TOY of all times!! This can be your God Send at a moments notice. Don't over use it, or they will tire of it.
Also, when Lily was a pup, I would use those smaller tennis balls and toss one and she would chase it, then when she would stop and look at me, I would toss another one and keep it up till all 2 dozen were all over the floor. Kept her real busy chasing one after the other while I sat there not moving except my throw arm. She was exhausted and ready for a new game by the end of the balls. Was a savior after my surgeries.
I also did a hide and seek game. I took about a doz plastic cups. Placed a piece of kibble under each cup spaced all over the floor. It only took her knocking the first over to figure out there were treats under each one. After about the first batch, she was champion of the cups. Then I would use all the cups, but skip the treats in a few. She eventually learned which cups had a treat and would knock it over to get it and which ones didn't have a treat and she skipped them. It was fun to watch her learn....how to get to the treats, that she had to sniff for specific ones, and that she is very smart!
Coming up with simple games that works their brains can be more exhausting than a good run in the yard.
