Any advice will help...
I know what your going through. We have a 10 month old male (Scooby) , and just brought home a 10 week old male (Ozzy). We used the same breeder for this puppy, so they have the same fathers, and the mothers are cousins. The good thing was, we were able to take Scooby to the pups house just to see how they would interact. We were afraid that Scooby might get jealous if one of my kids picked up a puppy. We were glad to see that he wasnt. We brought him home a couple days later, and Scooby is still fine. Scooby lets him play with his toys.. and eat out of his bowl...they actually eat out of the bowl at the same time. He loves to play with the puppy, and the puppy will play back..UNTIL he gets whacked by Scoobys big club paws which is much too often... then the puppy will snap at him, attack him, try to bite him, and its not pretty. I dont think that Scooby quite understands that his big paws hurt, cuz he is only a puppy himself. So my question is.. do I let them go, and maybe Scooby will take a hint from the pup? We have been trying to correct Scooby with (easy) or (nice) just to get his attention so he knows that he is doing something wrong.. Is there a possibility that pup might just end up disliking Scooby for good? Should I let them go? Or intervene? ANY advice is appreciated.
