How often do you bathe your boxer?

I have been bathing jay about every 2 weeks or whenever he gets really dirty, is this too much or not enough?

We probably bathe ours once a month or every other month. No set schedule. If they get a bath it's because they get muddy or something. Boxers don't really have oily coats or a "doggy" smell so they don't need to be bathed very often.

I am not quoting from any research or anything, but they do not need baths that often. Usually once a month. You can actually strip the natural oils from their skin causing them to get dry skin. We only give ours a bath every month or unless like the others have said "really dirty".

i just wipe him down with baby wipes when i feel he needs it, im constantly cleaning his feet and pad though, he doesnt smell so he gets a quick wipe down.

Once a week for my boy. He's an allergy dog and he does better getting bathed once a week, my girl I do once every other week to once every 3 weeks depending upon how I feel that day and if my back can handle doing them both.

IMO it depends upon the dog, where you live, and your lifestyle.

It depends on the time of year. Every other month in winter, because I think their skin will get too dry if I do it more often. Alot more often in the Spring because of the rains and mud pit known as my back yard. Summer I slack off again. In the fall I would have to do it every 2 weeks because of Star's allergies. Since we lost her last year, I'll have to see this fall.

Duke and Rudy get a bath or shower about every 6 weeks. I am glad summer is here - we can take our baths outside in the baby pool, otherwise they take a shower!

Layla gets a bath when she needs it, which means about every week.

She does play with other dogs quite a bit. Perhaps it is the drool from others mixed with our Georgia mud that bothers us. Good thing she does like baths.

I only bath Moto when he really needs it. He has been skunked 3 times and he has been bathed 3 times.
