What kind of food are you feeding him? It should give a serving size for pups on the bag. I'd recommend a human grade food if you're feeding kibble - I feed Canidae. It's an all-stage food, good for puppies through to seniors!
Depending on what kind of kibble will depend on the amount. Poor quality kibble feeds more because it's all filler. Better quality you're able to feed less.
Spread your feedings out for the little guy. If his daily portion is 4 cups, feed him one cup 4 x's/day. I'd also stop hand feeding him. You are training him, not the other way around. The pup will probably not starve himself to death!
Put the food down and pick up what's left after 15 minutes. Some dogs will dump the bowl and eat from the floor, or take kibble and move it to the carpet. That's okay for adult dogs, but for a pup, you should get him on a schedule, this way he'll know it's time to eat and not play! You may want to start feeding him in his crate. This way if he dumps, it'll all be in one place and he'll learn that crate is good, so I don't have to cry all night!
Good luck with your new baby. I like the name you've chosen!
