How much do you think your boxer understands?

Sometimes Sophie just flabberghasts me! I was folding towels from the dryer and Sophie loves to "Try to Kill" them all the while. I finally got tired of the game and told her to "go get your own towel on your chair!" (I keep a towel on her kitchen chair to protect the seat) I mean to tell you, she walked right over and yanked that towel off her chair and proceeded to "kill it!" I just kind of stood there dumb founded, digesting what had just happened. We have never made an issue of her towel on the chair, so how she understood, I'm not sure:confused: Patty

Our babies are just the smartest, aren't they?

Lexi constantly amazes me that way. Wish she could go out and get a job as CEO of some company....straighten them out and bring home a nice fat paycheck to keep her in treats and toys!

Yes Max always keeps me guessing. He was barking at the front
window as usual and I told him if he's going to bark to go to his
gate and bark. Well across the living room and out his dog door
and to his gate he went. I had never taught him that. Then on
other occasions I will have a whole conversation with him and
he'll look at me with his head turned and big eyes as if to say
Do you really think I have a clue what you are saying? So cute.

well i know zeus understands when he does something wrong (like tear apart magazines and leave them all over the floor) or when i ask him where his toy is or to check who's at the door. he amazes me when he looks to where i point asking him "what is it?!?!?!" gets him excited every time......

Trinity amazes me all the time. The best is when we say "who's here?" and she runs right to the door! The other thing that amazes me is the word "daddy" whenever I say "where's daddy?" She immediately goes to find my husband! appicon

Apollo is truly one of the smartest dogs I've ever seen. He knows so many words, it's incredible. We just mention any of the words and he knows exactly what we are talking about. He also now recognizes our vehicles. We couldn't believe it so we tested him the other day. He usually sits in "his chair" in front of the window facing the street, looking out. My wife drove by in her explorer to see what his reaction would be, he barked and ran right to the back door. We then tried this the next day with my explorer and he did the same thing. Amazing. I can't believe how smart dogs really are. The question I would like to ask is, how much more do they know and they just play dumb to get away with it???

Boomer is definitely smarter than many dogs I've come in contact with. I just wish I could turn off the selective hearing of his.

My parents are always bragging about their Golden, Cameron. Saying how smart he is blah, blah, blah...

I was staying with them for a month this summer and decided to show them how smart Cole is...

He has a bag of toys and I told him to "go get your ball" and he went picked it out of the bag and brought it back! then "go get your airdog" "Go get your bone" "go get your Baby" He was right on target everytime. I seriously could not believe it. He ended up bringing the wrong baby to me, so I went to the bag, only to realize I had packed BOTH his babies. So smart.

To say the least my parents have stopped bragging about their counter surfing, non swimming, loud barking Golden (do I sound bitter? :D )
