I'm a new mommy to a rescue Boxer, Zeppelin, and trying to learn as much as I can about the breed. One question I have, at the moment, is How much eye discharge is normal? And what color is normal?

I rescued him in Houston, Texas and brought him home to Dallas, Texas. It seems the longer we've been here the more drainage he's had from his eyes. My allergies are terrible right now...could his be as well? Or am I just being silly?

Help the the mommy,
Summertime

I was wondering the same thing. My girl Roxy always seems to have eye boogies. Her friend Emma who is also a boxer always has them too. Doesn't seem to be an infection and it doesn't seem to bother her.

Kilby doesn't really get eye-boogers but Kona does. After every nap she wakes up with gunky eyes. It's not really coloured though and never bothers her. In fact, her big sis will often lick her eyes clean before she goes to bed at night (kinda cute, kinda gross!).

I wish I could help with this one! Lilly's eyes do the same thing but hers go from white to green, and they go from just a little to lots that I have to wipe multiple times to get her clean!!

I had the same problem with my boxer. I thought it was the breed, well, a little discharge is normal too much can be allergies. The vet gave me drop to put in her eyes 3 times a day and that did the trick.

Guess we are lucky, we live in the Ohio Valley where everybody has allergies of somekind due to the weather here but our Sable never has any type of drainage or eye boogers. Guess she is a tuff girl. My husband and I try everything and nothing seems to work for us. Glad she doesn't have issues at least not yet and she'll be 6 in Nov. She is so healthy for a puppy mill rescue mama...it is amazing. Lived the first 2 years in a cage ( never let out) and was used for nothing but breeding. She is the best girl ever though and so far as healthy as can be.
