How long until soft stools go away???

Ok, this is going to seem kinda long. We got Sarge in February when he was 4 months old. The breeder was feeding him Pedigree Puppy ( Yuck!!) when we got him and he was having bloody loose stools. Took a stool sample to the vet and he gave him a wormer just to be on safe side. Before we got him, he was treated for something that I can't remember and the vet gave him an antibiotic and he seemed to be better. We switched him over to Nutro Max Large Breed Puppy but stools were still soft. Then, he started getting open sores on his belly and his paws and thanks to all the reading I did on Boxerworld, I figured out that he had food allergies. Switched him to Nutro Lamb and Rice Large Breed Puppy. Stools were seeming more formed and his sores were healing. Last month when he ran out of puppy food decided to switch him to adult and everywhere I am reading it says that Boxers are not Large Breed dogs and don't need Large Breed formulas. I started him an Nutro Lamb and Rice. Once again, his stools started getting softer...as fiancee likes to says looks like chocolate ice cream and he has been licking at his paws, itching at his ears. Did some research and found that Natural Balance had special allergy formulas. I started him on Duck and Potato last weekend. He absolutely LOVES it!!! Even wants to go outside and go potty more so he gets more treats!!!
Was just wondering how long it would be until his stools would starting getting better if he is going to tolerate this food or if anyone has any suggestions??

Well, did you transition him over to the new food slowly?? This should be done, then gradually mix the new food with the old, take a good couple of weeks to do it properly and you shouldn't have any problems with stools. If you still do add a small amount of pure pumpkin to his food, this should harden things up. Sorry, kinda hard for me to say because I don't know where your at
