How long is a puppy in heat for?

My 9 month old boxer is in heat and i just wanted to know how long and if their first heat is longer than the others.

do a search on "estrus detection". It will lead you to a very helpful/informative thread. Is there any particular reason your girl isn't spayed? Bitches' heat cycle last 21 days.. 24 to be safe i believe.

Seeing as how you got her from a Pet Store, she should definitely be spayed ASAP (and 9 months is plenty old enough - most get done around 6 months of age). :)
