I recently made the dogs some homemade dog biscuits. Next time, I would like to double the recipe but I was wondering how long they will keep without being refrigerated or frozen. Or is there anything I can use to preserve them longer?? I also toyed with the idea of selling them once I get the recipe down pat, but don't want to make anyone's doggie sick!!

It all depends on what they are made out of. If they have meat in them like liver or tuna treats, I keep them in the freezer or in the fridge for only a few days. Normal biscuits that have been made from flours etc. seem to keep for a few weeks outside of the fridge. I've never had them go bad as they get eaten too fast.

I made some liver treats once and put them in the fridge. A couple of days later I looked at them and they were all furry
I was so grossed out. Threw the whole thing out.
I am going to make some different ones and try freezing them, they will prob last longer then:)

I have found that liver treats will usually last about a week in the fridge. I keep them frozen and only take out enough for a few days.

Strange I must have did something weird to them :) or maybe they were in there longer than I thought. Sometimes my brain is on freeze LOL.
I made some beef livers yesterday. I boiled the liver in garlic & water and then sliced them, sprinkled a tiny bit of garlic powder and put them in the oven on a low temp for about 2 hours. They turned out really nice (i think). Luke gobbled them up anyhow.
