Well Taliesyn88,

It sounds like you and I have both found our guardian angels, you with your Rusty and me with my Hillie.

Do you think they realise just how much they mean to us and what they've saved us from???

Sometimes I think they know more than we can possibly imagine, I hope they do!

They know!

Our furbabies definitely know a lot more than we think. When I'm on the computer Duke will come in and look at me and sometimes he'll leave and go on the couch with his daddy and sometimes he'll stay and put his head on my lap. I notice that he stays when I'm sad or stressed, when I'm doing research on adoption agencies or he'll leave when I'm playing games or doing boring school work. Our babies are so in touch with our feelings, I think they know more about how we feel than we do!

My boxers saved our marriage. It wasnt until we brought Micah home that we had something to take care of. Something happened, a miracle I guess and it just changed everything. Then when Shayna came home it got even better. Now, with Koda, it's all fun and laughs. With out those angels coming along, we would be headed for divorce court. Thats as serious as it gets there.

I always tell people it was Greta that rescued us instead of us rescuing her. She has made such a change in our lives, it is amazing! I've never felt this sort of love with any other animal. I always had dogs growing up and I thought I loved them, and I did, but not the love I have for my Greta. My kids are getting to the stage in life where mom is not the center of their universe any more, they are growing up basically. Anymore when I walk in the door after work they can barely look up from whatever they may be doing to say hi. I'm sure some of you can relate. But it doesn't matter if I just walk out to the mailbox...Greta is there at the door, dancing around as if she hasn't seen me in days! Just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside when someone is excited to see you! We all have so much fun with her, she is quite the entertainer! It's like she wants to make you laugh. And boy do we ever! I'm so thankful for my furbaby.

I have only had my Molly for a few weeks now but she really has made a big difference. My husband and I bought our first home in August and were Married in September. I moved into our home just before the wedding. I tell you if wasn't a great experience. I work days and my husband works evenings. Which wouldn't be a problem but we moved out of town. I know absolutely no one. Good thing Molly came when she did. Her and I play and cuddle together while my husband is at work. It's not all that bad we have a new home so lots of decorating for us to do. But I couldn't imagine home without Molly these days.

I'm still young (21) and don't have any skin kids yet...but I am a mommy! I always tell everyone..."No matter how many (skin) kids I have, Sirus will always be my first baby!" He is my absolute best friend. He knows when I'm sad and knows just how to make me feel better. He knows when I'm happy...and I can see in his eyes just how happy that makes him! If I didn't have a wiggly 'lil (ha...'lil!) Boxer waiting for me on the other side of the garage door when I got home...I don't feel that I would have a reason to go home! Sirus is the love of my life...! He's taught me what it is to be selfless. To care for something so much more than yourself...making sure that they are comfortable (hoging the bed, leaving you a sliver of the blanket!) even if you're not! My Sirus is one of the most important beings in my life. I get very upset when people say things like, "He's just a dog!" Not to me...he's my baby! Spoiled-rotten...and all!

I was afraid of boxers...

But Jake cured that! I think because when I was little, my grandmother had boxer mix named Punchy that was rather rowdy. I got knocked down more than once, even though Punchy probably just wanted to play. But it left a lasting impression with me. Then in 1996, my now-ex-husband said a friend found a male boxer who had been on the streets for some time. I was against getting the dog, but the ex brought him over to visit me at work. Love at first sight! Those big, brown eyes and those floppy ears - what love my Jake was. He was my best friend for the next three years of that abusive marriage. He went everywhere with me, even on short trips to the store, where he would sit patiently in the car. Jake went to the bridge in 2001. He had a bad case of arthritis and was in so much pain he would whimper all night. My ex knew it was time. I didn't find out about it until a few months later. I still have photos of Jake all over my office.
In 1999, I found Titus at a shelter. He was three years old and an owner surrender. I was mourning the loss of Jake, who stayed with my ex. A few years later, we found Lady. These dogs can take a lousy day and fill it with instant sunshine. I get home after work and it's kidney beans, woo woos and kisses. They are my life and I will always have boxers!

Cinnamon has brought me and my bf closer together. We both bought her...she was the last one left and i went to see her with every intention of bringing her home. The breeder was reluctant to let me have her because on the Saturday before the monday i got her, a lady called and asked himto save her the biggest, dark faced female he had. and Cinnamon was that girl She said she would be by to put a deposit down on her...but never came. But becauseI had actually come and the lady didnt...he let me have her and home she came withme that night. The breeder said she was the "cuddler" and he was right. Anyway, the bf and I have been through a lot lately..with his accident and the after effects etc..because weve been through a lot weve come to appreciate each other a lot and have decided thatw e want to have a family and get married one day.. But alas we both have things we want to do and were a bit young for that so Cinnamon was what we needed..she has brought us closer toegether cuz shes "ours"

In the eight years I have loved Xena, she has given it back ten-fold! When my daughter was 5mths old, she had just been bathed and put into her playpen. Xena got up from the kitchen, went to the playpen in the living room and BARKED at the playpen. My innitail reaction was annoyance...I didn't want her to startle the baby! I told her "NO" and checked to see if the baby was not startled..I noticed she was not breathing right. Long story short...it was baby powder that she breathed into her lungs and made breathing difficult. She was fine in the end and I will NEVER be able to show Xena enough gratitude!!
Spirit has made me realize that life may not be the party we asked for, but we might as well dance while we are here!! :D
Oh...one more thing too! As I was walking the doggies the other night, we passed by "doggie-do" on the sidewalk and I could not help but notice that the deposit was sooooo small!! I pointed it out to my friend and commented on the size, and she thinks I need to get out more...!! Having boxers makes you realize things like that....doesn't it? smokicon
