not a good topic for me today. Neighbor got a new OUTDOOR dog so they all hear him barking at all hours of the night and then they start. Last night it was 3:00 AM. They go outside, bark back, then come right back in the house and on the bed. Why?

Usually I wake them up because they are all bums.

Sounds like you had a rough nights sleep...that sucks! Are you friendly with your neighbors? If you are maybe you could ask politely if they could bring him into the garage at night or something. If not, depending on where you live, most towns etc. do have noise ordinances to prevent this from happenening. Im on the homeowners board in my neighborhood and we just had to deal with an issue exactly like yours. Hopefully your babies will get used to it and you can get some good zzzz's:)

I still can't understand why people get dogs for the sole purpose of being an OUTDOOR dog...oh well

Ranger's Dad

Molly just sits beside the bed and whines. Ranger will pound on your forehead with his paw. His paws are very rough so it works rather quickly.

BabyBettis

Boxer Booster
Bettis has been sleeping in the crate due to some destructive habits at night (ie: Tearing open a FULL bag of cat litter and distributing it all over my dining room carpet : ) ) Any way, when he wakes up, he sings the woo-woo song, progressivly louder until he gets out and can go do his business. Sometimes, I pretend like I'm still asleep, just to hear how lon g he can hold those wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos!!! :)

Sweet Ginny

Super Boxer
Miss Ginny LOVES her beauty sleep. During the week, her daddy has to wake her up to go outside. She stretches as she comes out of her crate, gives her daddy a nub wiggle, then heads outside.

I usually stay in bed until she comes back in. I love it when she jumps in bed with me. She gives me a bunch of licks on the face, then proceeds to flush out all the "snakes" in the bed (bouncing around attacking anything that moves--mainly ME!). I don't have any choice but to get up after that!

On the weekends when we try to sleep in, she usually wakes us up when she needs to go outside by "tap dancing" in her crate. If that doesn't work, we get loud *sighs* and groans until one of us gets up. Such a cutie--I love waking up and seeing that sweet face!

Nothing subtle about Zac waking you up. It often entails him jack hammering you until you wake up, or you wake up with his face staring straight into yours.

paws, kicks, licks...I've had them all in the wee hours of the morning. :) But I do love it when Punchie comes in hops in bed with me after her morning potty, and snuggles right up against me. lovicon

Malsers

Boxer Pal
we were just talking about this the other day. Our dear, dear Rocco gets up at least half an hour before our alarm goes off and proceeds to do "helicopter ears" right next to us ... if that doesn't work, he goes to the other side of the bed and tries it again (and he has BIG ears, so it's loud). If we still don't get up - we're usually already awake by this time, but we try to ignore him - he sits right in front of our faces and just stares at us. LOL Too cute!

If Rocco can't wait until we get up (he usually loves a lie in) he comes to me and put his face (slobbery chops) at the side of my face and just looks at me with those eyes :) and no matter what time or how tired I am I just melt LOL :)
Now Lola well she is a different matter if I am not on the ball its madness. she hasn't quite mastered the art of waking me yet so I do tend to sleep with one ear alert!!!! but she is only young and we are getting there.

MyGirlHeidi

Heidi seems to know when I start to wake up. As soon as she sees me stirring she schooches (is that a word?) up to my face and huffs in it. Then, Barkley the Shih Tzu, joins in and he is a mad man who will stop at nothing to get you up to open the door for them! Now, if it's raining, they both wear a do not disturb sign.
