I have filled out an application with without borders boxer rescue in british columbia canada and am awaiting a response from them. It's my first time adopting through a rescue group. Has anyone had any experience with them? I'm so anxious to find out if we are approved but have no idea how long the whole process takes. Trying to be patient...

Without Boarders is a wonderful organization. They are the "sister" rescue to Boxer Rescue Los Angeles (who I volunteer with). Many of WBBR's dogs come from Los Angeles (where we have a HUGE population of homeless boxers). The volunteers & founder fly down to LA often and hand pick dogs to take back to Canada. We appreciate WBBR greatly! They are a wonderful group!
As far as the application process goes its best to be patient! Most everyone that works in rescue are volunteers (juggling their volunteer work, kids, family, full time jobs, their own pets, etc) so it can take a few days before you hear from someone.

EAO76 - thanks! I haven't been able to find much info about how they are to work with but I hope all goes well. We are a little concerned we won't be approved since we live in an apartment, but if only they knew us and our lifestyle... Anyway, basically if we aren't approved, we'll have to cast our nets elsewhere. We are really wanting to get a young adult female but if we can't make it happen, we may look at puppies...

I'm not sure of WBBR's policies but BRLA doesn't discriminate against people who live in apartments. If you don't hear from them in a few days you could always follow up with an email that explains more about your family & situation. But I am sure you will hear from them soon. Good luck and let us know how things go!
