They sure do know something we don't - I had Zak (Male brindle boxer) growing up and when I was about 14 a man came up the driveway while we were outside playing. Zak was a typical sloppy kisser to all people but this guy approached and he just froze and started growling. I grabbed his collar and held him but the guy said "its okay dogs like me" - it was pretty obvious Zak didn't!!! He was rather strange looking and still hadn't said what he was doing in our drive...so I let Zak go and boy did he go mad at him! He backed him up step by step to the end of the driveway - as soon as he stepped out of our property Zak stopped. To this day I still don't know what he wanted or was doing! I never saw Zak react like that to anyone else.

Actually, I may be wrong in doing so, but whenever Herkie shows behavior of defending me or our home I praise him. I NEVER tell him stop or no, because I want him to continue doing it. And they really do have a 6th sense, he doesn't seem to bark and growl at people unnecissarily, if he did this with everyone we encountered I would try to curb his behavior. So, my hats off to Vegas for protecting his family!
