Love My Abbey

Boxer Pal
This is driving me nuts!! About 1000 times a day, Abbey has her front paws up on the kitchen counter or the kitchen table. I always tell her "off" and sometimes push her paws off the counter. But it doesn't matter, because 3 seconds later she is back up on the counter again.
Is there any type of training I can do to break her of this habbit?? It is especially embarassing when company is over and I am trying to fix dinner or we are visiting at the kitchen table.
I am hoping to get specific things I can do with her to break this habit!

One suggestion: Take a bunch of old soda pop cans, put a few pennies in each one and line them up on the edge of the counters so that if the dog attempts to put her feet on the counter, she'll knock one of the cans off and it will make a noise and scare her. She'll soon stop doing it at all if she finds no satisfaction from getting on the counter and if it frightens her.

Keep food and things off the counters when not around to supervise and if you are cooking, and the dog is bugging you, totally ignore the dog giving it absolutely NO attention whatsoever. When he doesn't get what he wants, he'll stop bugging you when you cook. Or, you can simply teach the dog that when you are cooking, you'll give him a command to go wait in his crate or den and train the dog to stay OUT of the kitchen when you are cooking.

Good luck.
